Join me on my journey!
Hi, I’m Sara Preston — a 6th-generation farmer, agriculture educator, and speaker passionate about connecting people to the heart of farming.
I grew up on a small farm in southern Minnesota, where I first fell in love with agriculture and livestock — especially cows! Today, I live just across the border in Kossuth County, Iowa, where my husband Jared and I are raising the 5th generation of our family to love and care for the land and animals just like we do. Together, we farm alongside his multigenerational farm family — with four generations working together on our cow-calf, feedlot, corn, and soybean operation.
As an agriculture educator and founder of There’s A Farmer in My Classroom, I bring real-life farming stories and lessons to classrooms, helping students — whether they live in towns of 300 or cities of 300,000 — better understand where their food comes from and who grows it. I also speak to farmer groups and ag organizations about bridging the gap between consumers and agriculture, giving farmers the tools and inspiration to share their own stories. In addition, I work with school groups and present at educational conferences to help educators see the opportunities and impact of bringing agriculture education into their classrooms.
Agriculture isn’t just what I do — it’s who I am. I often say, “Cows make me happy!” because it's true — but even more, helping people connect with agriculture and understand farming is what truly drives me.
If you’re looking for a speaker or educator who brings energy, authenticity, and real-world experience to ag literacy, advocacy, and education, I’d love to connect!
